How can I adjust the height of my coilovers?

Coilover height is adjusted by loosening the spring perch collar on the threaded shock body - rotate the coilover to raise or lower, retighten the collar, then get a fresh alignment.

Most coilovers allow ride height adjustment through threaded shock bodies - you raise or lower the car by changing the position of the spring perch collar. Here is the process:

  1. Lift the car and support it safely on jack stands.
  2. Disconnect the upper mount from the vehicle (top of the coilover assembly).
  3. Loosen the height adjustment collar using a coilover spanner wrench.
  4. Rotate the coilover body - clockwise to lower, counterclockwise to raise - until you reach your target height.
  5. Retighten the collar firmly and reinstall the upper mount.
  6. Repeat on all four corners, measuring carefully to keep the car level side-to-side.

Can you adjust while on the car?

Yes, height can be adjusted with the car on the ground using a spanner wrench. Damping adjustments (on equipped coilovers) are made via a top-accessible knob or dial without removing anything.

After adjusting: Always get a fresh alignment after any ride height change - lowering affects camber and toe settings and will cause uneven tire wear if left unchecked.
